Automating recurring workflows

Research reports, weekly summaries, and outreach sequences

The recurring workflow opportunity

Most agency work has a rhythmic, recurring component: weekly status updates, monthly reports, quarterly reviews, client newsletters, prospect outreach. Each one follows a pattern. Once you’ve written the brief for the first run, you have a reusable workflow that runs itself.

Weekly agency report

# Recurring Task: Weekly Agency Report

## Purpose
Give me a single document I can review in 10 minutes that tells me the state of the agency for the week.

## Sources to pull from
1. Google Drive — /BConverse/Clients/[each active client]/ — read the latest status notes for each project
2. Gmail — search for any client emails from the last 7 days
3. Calendar — what's on the schedule this week?

## Output document structure
# BConverse Weekly — [date]

## This week's calendar
[Events list]

## Client project statuses
[One paragraph per client: current status, any issues, what's next]

## Flags and urgent items
[Anything needing immediate attention from email or project notes]

## This week's priorities
[3-5 action items based on the above]

## Save to
Drive: /BConverse/Internal/Weekly Reports/[date]-weekly.gdoc

Making workflows run themselves

The goal is a set of Cowork briefs that you can launch with minimal input and get production-quality output:

  • Save your briefs as templates in Drive
  • Update only the variable parts (date, client name) when you re-run
  • After 3-4 successful runs, the output should need minimal editing

The leverage calculation: If a recurring task takes you 45 minutes and you can automate it with a Cowork brief (20 minutes to write the brief, 5 minutes to review output), you break even on week 1 and save 40 minutes every week thereafter.
